Born with the Arabs, the typical "suk" street markets that keep intact the Arab roots of Sicilian culture, are characteristic open-air markets where you can eat a little bit of everything such as street food, which is the representation of all peoples who have influenced our cuisine.

As it happens in many Arab countries, markets squares such as the Ballarò & il Capo market in Palermo and the Marrakech market in the square of Jemaa el-Fna in Morocco just to name two, in the evening they transform and become real open-air restaurants, where you can find all the local delicacies that have been imported by different populations over time
